C.H.O.M.P.
Whether your child is currently experiencing a deployment, preparing for a deployment or has been through a deployment, spending time with other military children that understand this experience, will benefit your child. In an environment of military children only, there is a sense of safeness, strength and unity. C.H.O.M.P. events are free to military children. There are always opportunities for parents or guardians to attend. Each event varies; information for each event will be available on our website. *This program is for military families only. Child must be DEERS dependant. Upcoming Events: October October 22, 11am - 4pm Both you and your children will receive free admission to Afton Apple in Hastings, MN. Included will be lunch – hot dog, chips and beverage. Afton Apple has allowed us to stay after our event is finished if your family is interested in any of the other events available – or you want to continue to play in the maze! You may go to the orchard and enjoy apple and pumpkin picking and hayrides. Entry to the orchard is $3.00 (this will not be covered by MVFS). Afton Apple is very excited to host this event! Because of the amount of people that attend Afton Apple on the weekend, they have requested that adults stay with their children at all times. MVFS believes that every opportunity for military children to get together is very beneficial. Our C.H.O.M.P. events give them the opportunity to meet and connect with other military children who understand what deployment means, while in a fun and informal environment.
